Bola Adisa is an Associate Pastor to drive Maturity habits at the Elevation Church and looks after Zone 6 of The Elevation Church. Bola Adisa is also a professional with over 12 years of experience in ICT as communications field engineer, IT business requirement analyst, business development executive and pre-sales consulting executive at different times in his career.
 He is an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria and Wits Business School, South Africa.He currently works at SAP West Africa as the Regional Industry Solutions Manager for West Africa, managing SAP solutions for Banking, Oil & Gas and Utility Industries. Elevation Church: How can one speak in tongues?

Pastor Bola : Speaking in tongues is a divine function that happens under the unction, or power, of the Holy Spirit. No one can tell you how to speak in tongues. It comes when you are filled with the Holy Spirit. hen a person truly repents of their sins & asks God for salvation & to fill them with His Spirit they will receive the Holy Spirit. It may be immediate with d evidence of speaking in tongues & it may not maybe. The Bible promises in Acts 2 that when we repent and are baptized we will receive the gift of d Holy Spirit. The evidence that we have received the holy Spirit is the speaking with Tongues.

Acts 2:4 says “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues. focus is to seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit by repenting & believing in Jesus as personal Lord & Saviour. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is the lifeline of a maturing Christian. God never did anything without the Holy Spirit. Gen 1:1-2. Jesus never did anything without the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:38.

Elevation Church: What are the benefits of speaking in tongues?

Pastor Bola : Speaking in tongues is a powerful force for promoting spiritual growth. He refreshes us and gives us rest in trying situations.

• Praying in the Spirit by speaking in tongues helps our personal growth in things of God. 1Cor.14:4, Jude 20.
•  The Holy Spirit helps us to pray when we are overwhelmed and don’t know how to pray. Rom. 8:26.
• The Holy Spirit helps us to live a holy life. He is referred to as refiners fire, He burns all chaff (sinful nature) in us & purifies us. Matt. 3:11-12.
• He teaches us all the truth about God and His kingdom. John 16:12-13.
• He helps us to know all thing pertaining to our destiny. 1John 2:20.
• To cap all the benefits up, the Holy Spirit is the one that enables us to live the new life in Christ. Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot live a victorious Christian life. When we know all things, we can't be deceived. and we live in continUous victory and success.

Elevation Church: Can one interpret tongues and how?

Pastor Bola : There is the other aspect of speaking in tongues that is discussed in I Corinthians 14. This explains when speaking with tongues involves messages & communication with others. 1Corinthians 14.6-7. When others are involved, such should be followed with interpretation of that tongue. 1Cor. 14:6-17. We should pray that we may interpret tongues that we speak when it involves others. 1Cor. 14:13. So anyone can interpret tongues, when you pray to God to give you the interpretation. Remember in Acts 2:4, "...and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Elevation Church: Can you share with us how we can tap into the enormous power of tongues?

Pastor Bola : To tap into the enormous power of praying in tongues, as evidence of the indwelling Spirit of God, you need to have Faith, and do everything in faith believing that the Holy Spirit is in you. Be conscious of the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in you. John 14:16-17. Acknowledge that the Holy Spirit is there in you and with you. Act and live in that reality of his presence. Do not grieve Him. Don't hurt Him nor do things that will hurt Him. Remember He is a person. Eph. 4:30-31. Let all bitterness, anger, evil speaking, be put away from you. Surrender to His leading. Don't depend on your wisdom when you know He is with you. Lastly know that you are not qualified to be a son (or daughter) of God until the Holy Spirit is your leader. Rom. 8:14 #ElevateDay

Topic: Body of Christ / Nigeria
Text: 2Kings 6 : 24 - 7 : 1 - 2

Short Exhortation
When a nation is under siege you see things happening: worthless things become valuable, people live for the moment / today not caring for the long term effects of the decisions they take at the moment, they become desperate and ultimately they look for a scape goat.
Just like in the passage we read the church in Nigeria is the scape goat

God purpose for the Church is to have the divine positioning of sitting on the cutting edge of the prophetic to bring His divine counsel to bear in the scheme of things for the preservation of lives and destinies. Such that as we say it, we see it but the only problem is that we are not "seeing" like the church then (Elisha) did.

The situation today is that the church in the north is being persecuted, the church in the south is being slandered & blackmailed- these are all ploys of the enemy to silence the church and cause discord so that no preacher is considered credible enough to be listened to or be believed.

Prayer points
1.  Forgive our sins as a Nation and as a church; it takes the church to take the nation out of a siege because if the church doesn't speak out the siege is sustained. We therefore ask for your Mercy lord over our nation and the church in Nigeria.

2. Grant us grace for genuine repentance to turn from our wickedness as a nation so that you may indeed heal our land.

3. Have mercy over corporate Nigeria and every sector of our economy & social existence.

4. Pour out a reign of righteousness  over our land. (Open your mouths & make prophetic declarations over Nigeria.)

5. We ask for an over turning in the political landscape (Ezk. 21 : 24 - 27) cause a reconfiguration  in our nation such that any leader not aligning with divine agenda to take Nigeria out of siege will be overthrown & turned out of the political landscape  for good.

6. Lord raise leaders that will take over to take our nation out of this siege.

7. We speak against the enemy of the church in Nigeria after the order of pharaoh, stand against the spirit of the bond woman (Islam); every move to "Islamize" this nation is broken in Jesus name.

8. The spirit of Jihad / violence & Slander is stayed now in Jesus name, they will no longer hold sway over our very existence as a Nation in Jesus name. We bind the spirit of violence in the north, the Jihad spirit we break your hold over our nation ( especially in the North) in Jesus name.

9. The  church will take her rightful place and the leaders will see her as the revelation o God is - the church is no longer  a gathering of deceitful people, that as the truth of God prevails in our land, the church will be cleansed

10. That anyway the enemy has laid siege, we declare that every siege is over by the covenant and the blood in Jesus name. We receive unusual deliverances, unusual pass overs, open doors in 2013, by the blood in Jesus name. We gain speed to fast track in Jesus name.

Text: Is. 54 : 1 - 6

Short Exhortation
We are continuing our intercessory prayer for The Elevation Church focusing on Enlargement, the beauty of the prayer being that we by extension will also pray the prayers  for ourselves.
Enlargement starts from the mind, our capacity for faith & capacity to believe. God will do this ( start the enlargement) by unleashing his wisdom on us engaging our hearts to the point that we get dissatisfied with status quo and look to change (inspirational dissatisfaction). We challenge ourselves to reach to attain more in God - praying the right prayers, asking the right questions, living right.

2Kings 6 : 1 - 6
We need to be sensitive that God needs us to do ministry in a new dimension, building lives & as this is done we will have to expand our tents.
In the processor striving for enlargement we will encounter things that "don't look like it" but God will work it out far beyond our expectations on the outcomes - marveling us in the process as we take possession.

Prayer points
1. Make room! 2Kings 3 : 15 Go out of your comfort zone to make room, ask God to stretch your mind, knowing that the enlargement will be done in an instant without any warning / indicating signs. As you dig ditches God will fill the. Up in Jesus name.

2. Ps. 119 : 32 Enlarge my heart, enlarge our Church to see things we haven't seen before; give us capacity for a new level, to capture dreams & visions. Pray that we will not be satisfied with little things. Lord enlarge our hearts that we may run in the way of your vision.
Help us in Elevation church to birth new visions  for ministry, transforming our lives.

3. Send people to us that you will rescue from the pit of hell by our ministry; send souls to your kingdom through the Elevation Church, we ask Lord that people from all works of life receive redemption through the ministry of the Elevation church.

4. Divine instructions leading to divine enlargements. Lord give us  instructions leading to digging of ditches, changing our thinking. We receive divine instructions with grace for obedience that will lead to divine enlargement in Jesus name.

5. Divine help leading to divine enlargement we trust you Lord  for divine help. There are things we can't do on our own so that we do not come across stagnancy or be stranded. We receive favour from the corridors of power, opening doors of enlargement for us in Jesus name.

6. In 2013 Divine Assistance for myself & my family, business,career,marriages, relationships...
Prophetic helping hands in every sphere of our lives such that we are not stranded in Jesus name. Anything lost will be recovered by prophetic help ( business, career, marital destiny etc)

Declaration: you will not dwell in desert places in the matters of the heart but will dwell in well watered gardens in Jesus name.

7. Lord considering the size of our assignment we prophetically declare that where we are is too small for us, so we ask for capacity to get a place of enlargement, guide our steps to it, deliver it into our hands by your spirit, in Jesus name

8. We receive a release of grace to possess real estate over every member of the Elevation Church within and outside this country. That Lord God release it ( cottage industries, malls, farms, hectares of land, tank farms, etc)
 to us speedily, as it opens up for our church, let it open to us in
Jesus name

Text: Ex. 17 : 10 - 16

Short Exhortation

The will of God for his people is that we have victory in a divine order ( the church works / the kingdom works), each person has their place & life has colors & meaning when each one finds their their place.
When there's divine order in the house of God there's a direct impact in the life of the people. As we pray for The Elevation Church to be focused on the fact that we have our place; the Lord will war against our adversaries from generation to generation, in Jesus name.

Prayer points
1. Help me locate myself in your plans, the ultimate result being that, we prevail & not be onlookers in the scheme of things.

2. I desire to be used of you Lord, use me like you've never done before, aligning me with your purpose.

3. Divine order in the Elevation Church, that we will not break, help us to achieve divine order 2013; riding the cutting edge of God's grace. By extension we receive divine order & divine alignment into every family represented in The Elevation Church, manifesting in restoration in Jesus name.

4. Divine Strategies Matt. 16 : 19? There ways to win & walk in victory, in 2013 God wants to increase of sphere of influence. We command a release of divine strategies such that for every gate we need to bombard  there shall be on time strategies

5. Release upon us Lord wisdom that will confound the gates of hell such that the enemy will not be able to gainsay or withstand

6. I receive divine strategy to win the battles I will encounter this year, I receive the wisdom coming in the form of superior strategies/ winning strategies. I will not be confounded or confused, prevailing by wisdom

7.  We receive grace over the Elevation Church for gifts to begin to pop such that we'll see gifts in the things of the Spirit, in the physical- unusual understanding, all that you've placed in us finds grace for expression in Jesus name. No one lives a wasted life that no one will be considered unprofitable. We receive a release of gifts deployed appropriately to cause an unusual manifestation of our gifts.

8. Matt. 25 : 20 - 23. Lord we pray that by Dec 2013 we'll all be alive & well having fulfilled our purpose for 2013; all the grace granted will be deployed appropriately to yield a bountiful harvest and The Lord will say of us: well done thou good and faithful servant. We receive a multiplication of that which is in your hand, no diminishing of anything around you or in your hands.

9. We execute our assignment and we prevail over every stronghold over each area of our existence (cyberspace, social media, marketplace, career, entertainment, politics, education, healthcare, real estate, oil&gas, IT) like an exceedingly great army none can contend with.

10. Territorial domain: we have territorial domain bruising the head of satan in every sector, I walk in dominion, that which belongs to me comes to me in the power of the covenant & the blood. Nothing can stand against me.

Topic: Divine Direction
Text: 1 Sam. 30 : 6 - 20

Short Exhortation
The text above tells the story of how David after crying exhaustively sought the face of God and received instructions to "pursue" though he didn't wait to enquire in which direction to pursue, what we see is that because he obeyed divine instruction he was well positioned to be in the right place at the right time to have encountered the person who gave the clarifying details to the instructions he had received. He plundered the enemy and recovered all and even acquired spoils of war.

Prayer points
1. This year God will bring you across the person who will bring you to the place where the spoil is located. Is. 48 : 17. This year you will walk in the path of Destiny

2. Jn 5: 19 - 20 Submit to God as your Shepard who has the responsibility, I cease struggling, I want to be sheep indeed walking in your counsel and in your ways relying on you as my Shepard that I will not walk in the path of loss, submitting to God's direction leading to profiting. Lord is there anything or  posture pointing to me wanting to take control of my life please help me overcome all such postures, submitting to your way in Jesus name

3. Pray against the spirit of error & deception, receive grace to know the truth & believe the truth. Stand against  very device of error & lies / lying tongue, overcoming them in Jesus name.
Declaration: I enjoy the spirit of discernment to sense deceit from afar, in 2013 I shall not be deceived, I enjoy divine empowerment to decipher every form of deceit in Jesus name.

4. 1Kings 13 : 11 - 19 Lord deliver me from old prophets (detractors) or anyone who yields themselves  to be used as the agent of the devil, anyone sponsored by the devil against me in 2013 I'm supernaturally delivered from then in Jesus name.

5. Any counsellor/ mentor/ teacher who may have broken the edge, giving the devil a foothold to use against me, I escape them all in Jesus name.

6. Pray against distractions, so that you'll not be derailed from the path to destiny. In 2013 by the power of the Holy Spirit I stand against every distraction wanting to derail me from the path of destiny in Jesus name. Stand against every distraction in Jesus name
Declaration : I enjoy tunnel vision fully focused on my path of destiny walking circumspectly, seeing men as men not as trees.

7. Traditional beliefs/ mindsets that have kept me stagnant (not being in the perfect will of God for me), I receive grace to walk away from them that I may enjoy increase in Jesus name.

8. The Holy Spirit is a key factor for divine direction, you can't consistently grieve the Holy Spirit and expect him to lead you Eph. 4 : 25 - 31. Make a commitment  not to grieve the Holy Spirit

9. Ask for a fresh in filling of the Holy Spirit, give him full control as you enjoy sweet fellowship with him this year, inclining your ears to him.

Declaration: Lord that I may walk with you enjoying your company & fellowship, inclining my ears to you, trusting to walk in precision by your spirit this year in Jesus name

Topic: Divine Prosperity
Text: Gen 22 : 15 - 19

Short Exhortation
The covenant of prosperity is not the money gospel, rather prosperity is a wholesome experience packaged by God for his children. For instance the greeting Shalom literally means peace, but in its full contextual meaning it means "nothing missing, nothing broken" implying that beyond having enough money, you experience a wholeness in all areas of your life & existence.

An explanation of what the covenant of prosperity should look like / is all about is seen in Deut. 28 : 1 - 13. The benefits of covenant prosperity include:
* living in abundance
* peace & divine serenity over your household
* prevailing over struggles
* prevailing over contenders

Prayer points
1. Phil. 4 : 15 - 19, Jn. 12 : 24. The premise shows that in procurement of the covenant of divine prosperity, Abraham did not fail any of the test especially as regards giving; God grant me the grace of giving far more than I did last year in Jesus name, Lord take me to a new level in giving as an individual and for the Elevation Church so that we are well positioned  for the covenant of divine prosperity.

2. Josh. 6 : 1 - 5 pray that every form of containment shielding you away from the blessing of God and  your portion of the covenant are destroyed now in Jesus name. Somethings that are within the jurisdiction of God's blessing / the covenant for you but have been cordoned off are released now in Jesus name. Everything you need to fulfill destiny that is being occupied by someone is released and you take possession forcefully (pushing forth to prevail & possess it).
Lay hold on everything earmarked for you by destiny, possess them now by the covenant in Jesus Name.

3. Gen 26 : 19 - 25. Whatever contending against your increase and all that belongs to you by destiny will be  removed & you will increase, strife & contention ends now in Jesus name. Speak against the spirit of strife, you will enjoy many "Rehoboths" this year in Jesus name, signifying an end to strife & contention in all that belongs to you.
Declaration: Whoever is conniving to contend with me over that which belongs to me, Lord cause confusion in the midst of them, confusing their language thus bringing contention & strife to an end.

4. An expression of the covenant of divine prosperity is "blank cheques" - take hold of new territories as far as the eyes can see ( the covenant works with vision) declare new levels in business.

5. Thank God for: higher levels in your finances, new projects, unsolicited wealth, appointments,promotions etc. Plunder the enemy and enjoy wealth transfer by the covenant in Jesus name.

Topic: Divine Protection, Preservation and Restoration.
Text: Acts 13: 1 - 12

Short Exhortation .

The transcendent wisdom of God this year ( that has been declared our year of wisdom and power- 1Cor. 1 : 24) will cause all those who contend against you, thinking they are pushing you over the cliff to actually push you into destiny in Jesus name.

Be challenged to take hold of the spiritual discipline of fasting and prayer as an avenue to align yourself to the will go God for your life, to access divine direction. This implies that you are not permitted to be stranded because God's wisdom will not be in short supply, empowering you for divine assignment. If  anyone dares to stand in your way God will show up on your behalf to withstand and destroy all opposition in Jesus name.

When ever anyone / situation stands against you, you will declare the hand of God to come upon them shutting their eyes. As you go through this year carrying out your God given assignment, no one will be able to withstand you as you weld the power of God Mark 9 : 28 - 29. Nothing will shut your mouth so you will speak out against your adversaries declaring the hand of God to come upon them.

Prayer points
1.  Col 2 : 14 the  blood covenant is reinforced over your lives more than ever,  over you & your family shielding you from plagues. Speak the blood over everything that concerns you, stand against every atrocity from the pit of hell by the blood

2. Plead the blood over your family and every one that is connected to you such that every broken edge is repaired by the blood, that the mercy of God will prevail over judgement in Jesus name.

3. Ask for the power of God over your tongue that you may declare condemnation over every tongue that rises up against you in judgement. Receive grace to enforce the covenant over your life, your household , your business/ career.
Declaration: my mouth will not be shut when I'm supposed to speak, I receive grace to speak out.

4. Speak the blessing of God over your life speaking against every opposition, receive the grace to speak the counsel of God & as you speak, your words will not fall to the ground you'll see it honored with power. Enforce the the victory of the cross by speaking out this year in Jesus name.

5. Joel 2 :  25 - 27 every dangerous sickness & situations are turned around in Jesus name, declare restoration upon every area of your life by the covenant. Receive a restoration of anything that has been withheld unjustly declaring a divine release. All will be released and restored with benefits ("compound interest" - my addition) in Jesus name.

6. Every form of sickness, adversity,"Elyma's" will not withstand you because you will speak out against them & the hand of God will come upon them.

7. Pray against long journeys, stand against unnecessary long journeys any journey orchestrated by the enemy and the derivatives thereof are truncated now in Jesus name and direction to get you to your destination speedily is received now in Jesus name. Lord we receive speed such that journeys that should take a week will not take a month in Jesus name.
